Upcoming Events: (Book these days off in your Calendar!)

- Saturday January 27th 10am - 2pm: Building Grounds Cleanup, Organized by the Navy League branch.
- Friday Feb 2 7pm - Sunday Feb 4th 3pm: Interdivisional Seamanship Concentration, Dropoff will be at WorkPoint Barracks in Esquimalt, more information will be posted soon.
- Sunday Feb 18 9:30am - 3:30pm: Tentative times for Bottle Drive, meeting at LHQ, more information to follow.

Poppy Sales & Remembrance Day Parade

Dress for both events will be your #1 uniform. Depending on weather: parkas and black gloves.

Poppy Sales
Saturday November 4th 10-2pm (bagged lunch)
More information will be given out Wednesday.

Remembrance Day Parade
Drop off at Mary Winspear Center at 0930hrs
Pick up at Sidney Cenotaph. 1100-1130am
Parents are encouraged to stay for the parade.

Must have CO’s approval to miss these events!

Sports Night - Swimming Night
Where - Panorama Recreation Centre
Dress - Appropriate swimming attire
Timings - 1830 - 2000 (Early dismissal)

1st November
CO's Parade / Cadet Summer Training Centre Information Night
Dress - C1 (White Top, Tunic, Polished boots, etc.)
What - After Ceremonial Divisions there will be a Summer Training briefing for all cadets, parents are encouraged to attend to have any questions they may have regarding Summer Training answered.

CANSail Weekend - Sept 30 - 1 Oct 2017

This upcoming weekend, 30 Sept - 1 Oct 2017, RCSCC ADMIRAL BUDGE will be attending sail training at the South Vancouver Island Cadet Nautical Site, located at CFB Esquimalt.

Timings:
Arrive - 0745 Saturday
Depart - 1600 Sunday


This is a mandatory exercise for those who are not yet qualified with their CANSail I sailing levels. For everybody else who is qualified, it is highly encouraged to attend in order to work towards the next sailing level. Anyone qualified CANSail II or higher who is interested in the Pacific Region Sail Team, becoming a Volunteer Instructor with the Sail Centre, or would like to participate in the Provincial Qualifying Regatta next year must also be there this weekend.

Above all else, it will be a fun and gorgeous weekend on the water!   :-)

And, there's free food! Meals and accommodations will be provided at Nellies Block.

Attached below are a map of NADEN at CFB Esquimalt, and the kit list of required items for this weekend's sailing activity.

Cadet Summer Training Applications 2017

Selections are announced late May to early June.  If your cadet is not selected right away, they will be placed on a stand-by list and could be called at any time if there is an opening.

Selected cadets will receive movement orders (travel orders) that will identify when and where to catch the bus. Cadets must carry ONE piece of valid Government issued photo ID (BC ID or Passport) Or TWO pieces of valid Government issued non-photo ID (Care Card and birth certificate)

Cadets may have ONE piece of luggage not weighing more than 50 lbs, and ONE carry-on not weighing more than 21 lbs.

Trainees are housed in barrack-style accommodations; they should bring a lock to secure their personal belongings. Free laundry (or dhobey) is available and irons and ironing boards are provided.

If parents want to visit, or take your cadet off the base, The cadet must request time off on Sunday between 8:30 – 12:30.  Time off must be arranged by the Friday before with their Divisional Officer.

Course cadets receive a Cadet Training Allowance of $60.00 per week.

A full kit list will be provided prior to departure in their Joining Instructions – this provides you all the necessary information you will need to know.

Applications are due to the Training or Operations Officer by 30 November 2016.

Late Applications may miss out on preferred courses! If you are not selected don’t fret, you are on the stand-by list and there is a very real chance that you will be called up at any time up until the day Summer Training begins.
