UPDATES IN YELLOW

It's that time of year again - seamanship time!

We will be competing against all ten other Sea Cadet corps from Vancouver Island in the following events:

1. Heaving line toss

2. Trivia

3. Navigation

4. Semaphore

5. Sheer legs

6. Flag hoist

7. Boatswain calls

8. Knots, bends & hitches

9. Whippings & splicings

The cadets who participate in this competition will have priority on attending the week-long provincial Seamanship Training week and provincial Seamanship Competition at CFB ESQUIMALT 15-22 March 2013.

Timings:

Start - 1900 Friday 18 January 2013*

End - 1330 Sunday 20 January 2013

*Note - the competition itself will be during the Saturday and Sunday. So if you're not available on the Friday night, don't worry!

Location:

  • CFB Esquimalt (map)
    • Accomodations and parent drop-off will be at Work Point Barracks
    • Competition and parent pick-up will be at NADEN Drill Shed

Kit List:

  • Sea Training Uniform, including:
    • Sea Cadet parka
    • ADMIRAL BUDGE ball cap
    • Blue work dress shirt
    • Black t-shirt (if issued)
    • Pants
    • Boots
  • Appropriate Civilian Attire,
  • suitable sleeping attire,
  • sleeping bag,
  • pillow,
  • personal toiletries
  • towel for shower
  • Sports wear for PT
  • Swim trunks
  • Shower flip-flops
  • Boot polishing kit
  • Combo lock for locker
